Tesla just raised the standard for its base-level sedan, scrapping the rear-wheel drive Model S 60 for the new, all-wheel drive Model S 70D. With prices starting at around $75,000, the 70D is $5,000 more expensive than the 60, but adds a second motor at the front of the vehicle and a bigger, 70 kWh battery pack that bumps up the car’s range to an EPA-rated 240 miles.
The 70D is also more powerful than its predecessor, offering a combined 514 horsepower, a top speed of 140mph, and a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds. A couple of weeks ago I wrote An Exploration in Material Design after attending a workshop at Google HQ where I explored what feedly would look like if we followed the new style guide.
On February 10th I went back to Google with my teammates Edwin and Sean to attend another workshop and get more tips from the Material Design team. Rachel Been, Art Director at Google, was our mentor and shared with us a few core principles they use in Material Design..
After two days of work in Google’s Garage we managed to create a working prototype. Add to that a few weeks of polishing and we are now able to release our first implementation of Material Design.

Apple Watch preorders start Friday, and Apple has given a few reviewers the chance to play with the watch before it officially launches on April 24.
After reading many reviews, the general takeaway is this: The watch is a really nice device that has lots of potential, but most people should skip it for now. It’s good for early-adopting techies who live and breathe through their phones, but the rest of the world should wait for the next version of the watch. Or maybe even the version after that.
